Rachel Kendal, MHC-LP
Hi, my name is Rachel Kendal, and I am a Mental Health Counselor with Limited Permit (MHC-LP) in the state of New York. I earned my Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John’s University and am currently pursuing my Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology at Adelphi University. My therapeutic work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and supported by a person-centered approach that emphasizes empathy, collaboration, and unconditional positive regard.
I specialize in working with adolescents and adults who are navigating addiction, depression, anxiety, and a wide range of daily or life stressors. I understand how overwhelming it can feel when you are facing challenges without someone to turn to. My goal is to offer a safe, supportive, and comfortable space where you can freely express yourself, feel understood, and receive the guidance you need to move forward. Counseling, to me, is about showing compassion and walking alongside you during life’s unpredictable moments. As a clinician, I work collaboratively with each client to identify effective tools and strategies that improve emotional well-being and overall mental health. I recognize that every individual is unique, shaped by their culture, background, and personal experiences. Because of this, I maintain a strong multicultural awareness, ensuring that therapy is tailored to your identity, values, and goals.
Everyone’s journey is different, but my priority remains the same: making your life easier and helping you build the resilience needed to face challenges with confidence. By exploring mindset shifts, addressing unhelpful thought patterns, and developing a personalized toolkit of coping skills, I am committed to helping you navigate life’s obstacles and create meaningful, lasting change.
If you’re looking for a supportive therapist who provides structure, compassion, and practical tools for growth, I would be honored to work with you at NGMHC.
